A Penn Yan man was arrested early Monday morning following a traffic stop in Canandaigua, where authorities reportedly discovered a significant quantity of controlled substances in his vehicle.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office, deputies stopped a vehicle at approximately 2:20 a.m. on State Route 332. During the stop, officers allegedly found a large amount of controlled substances, leading to the arrest of the driver, identified as 38-year-old Rodney N. Christensen of Penn Yan.
Christensen faces multiple charges, including two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, as well as charges of fourth- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Following his arrest, Christensen was transported to the Ontario County Jail and arraigned later that morning.
Authorities confirmed that Christensen was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Canandaigua Court at a later date.
