Man Accused of Stealing Wheel Loader from Henrietta Business, Storing it in Livingston County
A Monroe County man has been arrested on felony charges following an investigation into a stolen construction loader, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the case began on December 3, 2024, when a passerby on Mill Gully Road in Groveland reported seeing a CASE 721C loader. Investigators determined that the equipment had been stolen from a business on Jefferson Road in Henrietta two days earlier.
Following an investigation by both the Livingston and Monroe County Sheriff’s Offices, authorities allege that 46-year-old David Tallman Jr. took the loader in the early morning hours of December 1, 2024, and later drove it to Groveland, where it was parked in a field.
On March 7, 2025, deputies arrested Tallman and charged him with felony criminal possession of stolen property in the second degree. He was processed at the Livingston County Jail before being arraigned in the county’s centralized arraignment court. Due to prior felony convictions, the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office recommended he be held without bail. The presiding judge agreed, remanding him into custody.
Tallman was represented by the Livingston County Public Defender’s Office at his arraignment, while the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office handled the prosecution.
The investigation remains ongoing, with assistance from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
