Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Wayne County and Surrounding Areas
Wayne County and several neighboring counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory from 4 a.m. until 1 p.m. today, Thursday, February 6, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo.
The advisory warns of mixed precipitation, with total snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 2 inches, particularly north of the New York State Thruway. Additionally, ice accumulations of a few hundredths of an inch are expected, which could create hazardous road conditions.
The affected areas include Wayne, Monroe, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Northern Cayuga, and Northern Erie counties.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution as bridges, overpasses, and roads may become slick, particularly during the morning commute. The NWS advises drivers to slow down, use caution, and be prepared for reduced visibility and slippery conditions.
