Wind Advisory in Effect for Western and Central New York
A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo, effective from 7 p.m. this evening through 6 p.m. Monday. Residents in western and north central New York are advised to prepare for strong winds that could create hazardous conditions.
West winds are forecasted to reach sustained speeds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts peaking at 50 mph. These conditions may lead to unsecured objects being blown around and could result in tree limbs falling and isolated power outages.
Motorists are urged to use caution, particularly if driving high-profile vehicles, as strong gusts may affect vehicle stability. Residents are also encouraged to secure outdoor objects to prevent damage or accidents caused by flying debris.
The advisory remains in effect until Monday evening.
