A traffic stop was conducted, during which the woman was questioned and reportedly admitted to taking Corona beer, Beggin' Strips dog treats, and two lighters from the store.
A Williamson woman was arrested following an alleged shoplifting incident at the Dollar General in Marion, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies took 44-year-old Juana J. Forshee of Arrowbend Drive into custody after store employees reported a theft in progress. The incident was triggered by an audible anti-theft alarm, prompting store associates to observe Forshee allegedly hurrying to her vehicle in an attempt to leave the scene.
Employees provided a description of Forshee and her vehicle to a 911 operator, who relayed the information to responding deputies. A short time later, authorities spotted the vehicle traveling northbound on Route 21 in Williamson. A traffic stop was conducted, during which Forshee was questioned and reportedly admitted to taking Corona beer, Beggin' Strips dog treats, and two lighters from the store.
Forshee was charged with petit larceny and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office for processing. She was later released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Marion Town Court on April 23 at 1 p.m.
