Williamson Man Arrested on DWI Charges Following Civilian Complaint in Sodus
A Town of Williamson man was arrested early Friday morning following an investigation into a civilian complaint regarding a vehicle off the roadway on S. Geneva Road in the Town of Sodus.
A Town of Williamson man was arrested early Friday morning following an investigation into a civilian complaint regarding a vehicle off the roadway on S. Geneva Road in the Town of Sodus, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene shortly after midnight and identified the driver as 20-year-old Keandrea D. Wigent of State Route 104, Williamson. Authorities allege that Wigent was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Deputies reported detecting the odor of alcohol and conducted field sobriety tests, which led to further investigation. A chemical breath test later indicated a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .21%, more than twice the legal limit.
Wigent was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), aggravated DWI, failure to keep right, speed not reasonable and prudent, and operating an uninspected motor vehicle.
Following his arrest, Wigent was released on Uniform Traffic Tickets and is scheduled to appear in Town of Sodus Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
