Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Offering Safe Boating Course in April

With warmer weather approaching, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Recreation Safety Division is preparing to host a New York State Safe Boating Course. The course is a requirement for individuals operating personal watercraft or power-driven vessels in New York waters.
The class will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Red Creek Fire Department, running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants must be at least 10 years old to enroll.
This course is part of a statewide initiative aimed at improving boating safety by educating operators on navigation rules, emergency procedures, and safe boating practices.
