Wayne County Seeks Family Advocate and Education Specialist for Child Advocacy Center
The Wayne County Child Advocacy Center is currently seeking a Family Advocate and Education Specialist to join its team under the Wayne County Department of Social Services. The position, based in Lyons, offers an annual salary of $61,132, along with benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and participation in the New York State Retirement Pension system.
The role focuses on providing support and advocacy for child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. Responsibilities include assessing victim needs, making referrals, offering guidance on legal processes, and accompanying victims to forensic evaluations and court proceedings. Additionally, the specialist will play a key role in community outreach and education programs aimed at increasing awareness and prevention of child abuse.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and have at least two years of experience in a human-services-related field, such as social work, case management, or victim advocacy. A valid New York State driver’s license is also required.
