Wayne County Mental Health Department Seeks Program Supervisor
The Wayne County Mental Health Department is accepting applications for a Program Supervisor position. This provisional role offers a salary of $77,091 in 2025 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including regular salary increases, paid leave, health insurance, and a New York State retirement pension.
The position will be filled on a provisional basis, pending a Civil Service exam.
Job Responsibilities
The Program Supervisor will oversee mental health and addiction services within the Wayne Behavioral Health Network. Responsibilities include:
Managing staff and coordinating mental health services
Overseeing program effectiveness and ensuring service availability
Handling admissions, referrals, and treatment planning
Supervising program staff and conducting evaluations
Assisting in policy development and budget oversight
Providing direct services when needed
Qualifications
Applicants must have a master’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing, mental health counseling, or a related behavioral science field, along with three years of professional experience in community mental health. Candidates must also hold a New York State license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Registered Professional Nurse (RPN).
Degrees must be from an accredited institution. If earned outside the U.S., candidates must provide independent verification of equivalency.
