Wayne County Mental Health Department Seeks Senior Account Clerk
The Wayne County Mental Health Department is currently accepting applications for a Senior Account Clerk position. The role offers a starting wage of $21.08 per hour in 2025, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
The Senior Account Clerk will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining financial records, reviewing expenditures, and assisting with budget preparation. The job requires moderate clerical and financial duties, often performed independently with occasional supervision. The position may also involve supervising clerical assistants.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
A high school diploma and two years of experience in financial recordkeeping.
An Associate Degree in accounting.
Two years of college coursework in accounting.
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicants with degrees from institutions outside the U.S. must provide proof of equivalency through an approved evaluation service.
Job Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
Supervising financial recordkeeping and account classifications.
Reviewing and verifying financial transactions.
Preparing payroll and financial reports.
Assisting with budget management.
Handling correspondence and overseeing clerical staff.
