Three farms—Shadow Hill in Ontario, The DAM Farm in Palmyra, and Packard Valley Farms in Macedon—will host events throughout March.
As March ushers in the maple season in New York, local farms are opening their doors for Wayne County Maple Weekends, offering visitors a chance to experience the region’s rich maple syrup tradition firsthand.
Three farms—Shadow Hill in Ontario, The DAM Farm in Palmyra, and Packard Valley Farms in Macedon—will host events throughout March, featuring maple syrup production demonstrations, educational tours, and tastings.
Shadow Hill, located at 7259 Lakeside Road in Ontario, will be open Saturdays and Sundays from March 1 through March 30, welcoming visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The DAM Farm, at 2095 Harris Road in Palmyra, will hold events on the weekends of March 22-23 and March 29-30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Packard Valley Farms, located at 438 Macedon Center Road in Macedon, will also participate on March 22-23 and March 29-30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The events provide an opportunity for families and maple enthusiasts to learn about New York State’s traditional syrup harvesting methods. Many locations feature tours of the “sugar bush,” where sap is collected, as well as educational demonstrations on syrup production. Some farms may also host pancake breakfasts, providing fresh maple syrup alongside classic breakfast favorites.
