Walworth Town Supervisor Michael Donalty Announces Resignation
He has accepted a position with a local college’s Public Safety Department.
Walworth Town Supervisor Michael Donalty has announced his resignation, effective March 22, 2025. Donalty informed the town clerk and board of his decision on February 21, citing a new opportunity in higher education. He has accepted a position with a local college’s Public Safety Department.
Donalty stated that balancing both roles would not be fair to the community and taxpayers. While he expressed interest in remaining on the town board as a council member, the final decision will be up to the board. He also indicated plans to run for a board seat in the upcoming November election.
Reflecting on his tenure, Donalty expressed gratitude for the support he and his wife have received from residents and local businesses. He acknowledged the contributions of town staff in advancing community initiatives and making Walworth a desirable place to live and work.
The town board will determine the process for selecting Donalty’s successor.
