Those interested in raising their own laying hens will have the opportunity to learn about the process during an upcoming virtual workshop. The event, titled "Raising Laying Hens for Eggs: Is It All It’s Cracked Up to Be?", is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Hosted by CCE Livestock PWT, the session aims to provide insight into the responsibilities and considerations of keeping backyard chickens. Topics will include local regulations for chicken ownership, flock management expectations, the lifecycle of a laying hen, and the costs associated with maintaining a flock. Additionally, participants will receive guidance on best practices and regulations for selling eggs.
The workshop will conclude with a Q&A session, allowing attendees to ask specific questions.
