Victor High School Teacher Charged With Raping Student
Authorities are encouraging anyone with information related to the case or similar incidents involving Porter to contact Investigator Dylan LaBrake at (585) 394-4560.
A high school teacher in the Victor Central School District has been charged with rape in the third degree following an investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office, and Ontario County Child Protective Services.
David W. Porter, 66, of Victor, was arrested on allegations that he engaged in sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 17 in December 2024. Porter was arraigned in Ontario County CAP Court and released on his own recognizance, despite objections from prosecutors. A judge issued an order of protection on behalf of the victim. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m. in Victor Town Court.
According to school officials, the victim is a student but does not attend classes with Porter. Authorities have found no evidence that the alleged incident occurred on school property. Upon learning of the charges, the Victor Central School District placed Porter on immediate leave and is pursuing the suspension of his teaching certificate. District officials stated they are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Superintendent Dr. Timothy Terranova acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and reassured the community that student safety remains the district’s top priority. He said additional support resources will be available for students and staff starting Monday.
“These circumstances are distressing. The safety and well-being of our school community is of the highest importance,” Terranova said. “If you or your child are in need of immediate support, please contact your child’s principal.”
Authorities are encouraging anyone with information related to the case or similar incidents involving Porter to contact Investigator Dylan LaBrake at (585) 394-4560. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kristin Sippel.
