Vestal Man Arrested After Fleeing Authorities in Tioga County
A Vestal man was arrested following a burglary investigation in Tioga County after allegedly fleeing law enforcement.
According to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and New York State Police troopers responded to reports of a burglary in progress on Taylor Road on February 13. Upon arrival, officers saw two individuals exiting a vacant building. When ordered to stop, both individuals attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended after a short pursuit.
One of the individuals, identified as Matthew R. Breed, was arrested and charged with obstruction of governmental administration. The second individual was taken into custody by the New York State Police.
Breed was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Owego Court at a later date. Authorities stated that additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
