Vehicle Flips Into Ditch in Marion, Driver Transported to Newark-Wayne Hospital

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred early Friday morning at the intersection of Marion East Williamson Road and North Main Street in the Town of Marion.

According to authorities, the vehicle was traveling on snow-covered roads when it slid through the intersection and down an embankment. The vehicle then overturned into a drainage ditch, which began filling with water. Deputies on scene assisted the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and provided aid.

The driver sustained injuries and was transported by Williamson Town Ambulance to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The Marion Fire Department and Williamson Town Ambulance also responded to the scene. Officials say the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
