United Airlines to Add Second Daily Flight Between Syracuse and Denver This Summer
“With Micron’s investment bringing thousands of jobs to Onondaga County, improved air travel options are critical,” Senator Chuck Schumer said.
United Airlines will introduce a second daily flight between Syracuse Hancock International Airport and Denver International Airport this summer, a move aimed at improving connectivity between Central New York and key destinations on the West Coast and beyond.
The additional service, set to run from June 26 to August 17, comes in response to increasing demand for the route. The current Syracuse-to-Denver flight is regularly fully booked, prompting local leaders to push for expanded service.
“This additional flight enhances access to and through Denver, particularly benefiting business travelers in the semiconductor industry,” said Jason Terreri, executive director of the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority. “It offers more convenient connections to important locations such as Boise, Idaho, and the Bay Area.”
The new flight schedule will feature an inbound flight departing Denver at approximately 9:40 a.m. Mountain Time, arriving in Syracuse just after 3 p.m. Eastern Time. The outbound flight will depart Syracuse at 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time, arriving in Denver just after 6 p.m. Mountain Time.
Officials say the expanded service will benefit both tourism and business development in Central New York. The flight provides better access for travelers visiting the region’s attractions and facilitates connections to tech hubs that are expected to play a key role in local economic growth.
Senator Chuck Schumer, who had previously urged United Airlines to expand service at Syracuse Airport, called the additional flight a step toward strengthening the region’s growing technology sector.
“With Micron’s investment bringing thousands of jobs to Onondaga County, improved air travel options are critical,” Schumer said in a statement. “This new flight will help connect Central New York to the West Coast and international markets, supporting both business and tourism.”
In recent years, the airport has received federal funding for projects including taxiway rehabilitation, security upgrades, and de-icing improvements. The increased service on the Denver route marks another milestone in the airport’s expansion efforts, with local leaders hopeful that continued investment will drive further growth in air travel options for the region.
