Two-Vehicle Crash in Bloomfield Sends One to Hospital

A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 5 & 20 and South Avenue in the Village of Bloomfield resulted in minor injuries and a traffic citation on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred at approximately 1:58 p.m. when 65-year-old Sandra Gates of Dansville, operating a 2013 Infiniti G37, failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Her vehicle collided with a 2018 Audi RS3 driven by 88-year-old Robert Armitage of Honeoye Falls.

Armitage sustained minor injuries and was transported to Thompson Hospital for further medical evaluation. Gates was issued a traffic citation for failing to yield at the stop sign and is scheduled to appear in East Bloomfield Town Court at a later date.

Emergency responders from the East Bloomfield Fire Department and Canandaigua Emergency Squad assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Boadway.
