Two Pal-Mac Wrestlers Qualify for State Championships
Two members of the Palmyra-Macedon varsity wrestling team have secured spots in the upcoming New York State Championships after strong performances at the state qualifiers.
Seniors Zach Rooks and Luke VanGorden each claimed first-place finishes at the qualifying tournament on Feb. 15, earning their second consecutive trip to the state competition.
Pal-Mac has a history of success at the state level. Last year, 2024 graduate Braidon Woodward made program history by winning a state title, the first for the team since Jace Schafer’s championship run during the 2020-21 season.
The state tournament is set to begin on Feb. 28 in Albany, where Rooks and VanGorden will compete against the top wrestlers from across New York.
