Two Hospitalized Following Phelps Crash on Route 14

Two drivers were transported to Geneva General Hospital following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 14 and State Route 318 early Tuesday morning.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. when Jessica Smith, 48, of Auburn, was driving a 2023 Kia westbound on State Route 318. Smith attempted to make a left turn onto southbound State Route 14. Meanwhile, Sandra Hill, 70, of Rochester, was driving a 2023 Hyundai eastbound on the NYS Thruway off-ramp, continuing straight onto Route 318.

Deputies reported that Smith failed to yield while making her left turn, causing a collision with Hill’s vehicle. Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to Geneva General for evaluation.

Smith was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn.
