Two Buffalo Women Charged in Lockport Shoplifting Incidents
Two Buffalo residents are facing charges following a shoplifting investigation at the TJ Maxx store on South Transit Road in the town of Lockport.
According to New York State Police, troopers were called to the store around 2:55 p.m. on March 28 after receiving a report of suspected theft. Store loss prevention staff assisted in the investigation, which led to the arrest of Alisha J. Moore, 37, and Krystain G. Williams, 37.
Police say Moore was seen concealing $31.18 worth of merchandise and exiting the store without paying. While Williams did not reportedly take any items during the March 28 incident, authorities allege she had stolen merchandise valued at $59.96 during a previous visit to the same store on March 24. Investigators also closed another open case tied to Williams involving $174.89 worth of goods taken on that same date.
Both women were located by troopers while driving on Millersport Highway in Amherst and were taken into custody without incident. They were processed at the State Police barracks in Lockport and issued appearance tickets for the Town of Lockport Court, where they are scheduled to appear in April.
