Authorities say the incident occurred on the evening of February 16, when store employees reported that two individuals used a fraudulent debit card to purchase $11,500 in gift cards before leaving the scene in a white Ford Expedition.
A Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert was issued to law enforcement in surrounding counties. Following a traffic stop, police identified the driver as Marrion M. Simms, 28, a Michigan resident with multiple extraditable warrants from Ohio, Missouri, and Pennsylvania. A passenger, Deshon L. Davis, 24, of Rochester, N.Y., was also in the vehicle.
Investigators determined that Simms and Davis were the suspects involved in the Speedway incident, and both were taken into custody before being transported to the New York State Police barracks in Waterloo for processing.
