Tragic Triple Homicide Under Investigation in Brighton
“Preliminarily—and obviously, information changes—it just looks like a terrible case of domestic violence,” Catholdi said, emphasizing that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Brighton Police are investigating a tragic incident involving the deaths of two adults and a child, who were fatally shot on Friday. The shocking event has left the community reeling as authorities work to piece together what led to the violence.
According to Brighton Police Chief David Catholdi, officers were dispatched to Hollyvale Drive around 11:55 a.m. for a welfare check following a report of a person bleeding on a front porch. Upon arrival, police discovered a grim scene: two individuals were found deceased inside an adjacent home, while a third victim, located outside the residence, was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
While the precise circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, Chief Catholdi indicated that the incident appears to be a case of domestic violence. “Preliminarily—and obviously, information changes—it just looks like a terrible case of domestic violence,” Catholdi said, emphasizing that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The names of the victims have not yet been released, and the investigation remains active. Police have cordoned off Hollyvale Drive, located off Winton Road near Brighton High School, and the street will remain closed until further notice.
