Three Taken into Custody Following Police Pursuit on I-90
A traffic stop on the New York State Thruway escalated into a multi-agency pursuit on Friday, February 7, 2025, ending in the city of Rochester with three individuals taken into custody.
According to the New York State Police, the incident began around 1:20 p.m. when troopers attempted to stop a 2024 Audi passenger vehicle traveling eastbound on I-90 in the town of Batavia. The driver failed to comply, prompting a pursuit that continued onto I-490 eastbound.
Due to safety concerns, troopers discontinued the pursuit as the vehicle entered the city of Rochester. However, New York State Police Aviation maintained surveillance from the air, tracking the vehicle until it stopped on Arnett Boulevard near Genesee Street.
Three occupants were taken into custody at the scene with assistance from the Rochester Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Authorities have not yet released the names of the individuals involved. Charges are pending, and the investigation remains active. Additional details will be made available as the investigation progresses.
