Three Rochester men were arrested early Tuesday in connection with a burglary at Van Bortel Ford on Marsh Road, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the dealership around 3:20 a.m. on March 11 after receiving reports of a burglary in progress. An employee provided a description of three suspects, prompting deputies to establish a perimeter with assistance from the sheriff’s office Drone Response Team and K9 units.
During their investigation, deputies located a gold Chevrolet Malibu parked behind a building near the dealership. After reviewing security footage, they identified three men inside the vehicle as suspects. The individuals were detained and taken to the sheriff’s office A Zone substation for questioning.
Authorities reported damage to multiple desks inside the dealership and pry marks on an exterior door.
The suspects were identified as:
Rahjule B. Keeton, 20, of Rochester – charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief, both Class D felonies.
Lancear T. Alexander, 20, of Rochester – charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief, both Class D felonies.
Hardy M. Porter Jr., 18, of Rochester – charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief, both Class D felonies.
Keeton and Porter were released with appearance tickets in accordance with New York state law. Alexander, who has two open felony cases, was arraigned in Perinton Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
The investigation was supported by multiple sheriff’s office units, along with assistance from the Fairport Police Department.
