Third Waterloo Official Arrested for Alleged Burglary at Highway Department
Authorities allege that on March 25, 2024, the suspects unlawfully entered the Waterloo Highway Department building at 66 Virginia Street and caused damage to property inside.
Three individuals, all apparent local officials, have been arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony, following an investigation by the New York State Police.

The individuals charged are:
Don A. Trout, 40, of Waterloo, who serves as the Seneca County Town Supervisor for Waterloo.
Robert H. Lotz, 40, of Waterloo, a member of the Waterloo Town Board.
Michelle Geraghty, 39, of Waterloo, who, according to a 2021 IRS filing, was listed as president of the Waterloo junior football league.
Following their arrest, all three were arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court and released on their own recognizance.
Further details regarding the alleged break-in, including the extent of the damage and possible motives, have not been disclosed. The case remains under investigation.
