The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Syracuse woman in connection with a theft at a local business.
Rachelle A. Riggs, 30, was taken into custody on February 11, 2025, on an active arrest warrant. She has been charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny.
The charges stem from an incident in April 2024, when Riggs was allegedly seen concealing items under her sweatshirt before leaving the store without paying. According to authorities, the business had previously issued a trespass notice to Riggs, barring her from the premises.
Following her arrest, Riggs was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where she awaits arraignment.
In 2020, it was reported that Syracuse area police heard gunshots in the Village of Solvay which prompted an immediate response. Officers then saw a vehicle leave the area, speeding. Officers stopped the vehicle and found a loaded handgun. The people in the vehicle were identified as Rachelle Riggs, 32, and David Herndon, 28.
