State Police Investigating Fatal UTV Crash in Jefferson County

A fatal utility task vehicle (UTV) crash in Jefferson County is under investigation by New York State Police.

According to authorities, the crash occurred on the evening of March 19, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m. State Police in Watertown responded to reports of a UTV accident on County Route 30 in the town of Philadelphia.

Preliminary findings indicate that 23-year-old Ryan P. Gleisner, a resident of Philadelphia, NY, was operating a 2025 Polaris Ranger XP UTV when he veered off the roadway. The vehicle traveled through an embankment on the west side of the road and into a wooded area, where it struck multiple trees. Gleisner was ejected from the UTV and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding potential contributing factors.
