A small plane crashed in a parking lot near a retirement community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on Sunday afternoon, injuring at least five people.
The aircraft went down around 3:15 p.m. near Brethren Village Retirement Community in Manheim Township, just south of Lancaster Airport. Witnesses reported seeing flames and thick smoke rising from the wreckage.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist the injured and contain the fire. Authorities have not yet released details about what caused the crash or the condition of those involved.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Traffic Safety Board are investigating the incident.
