Alternative rock band Sister Hazel will take the stage at Chevy Court during the Great New York State Fair on Tuesday, August 26, at 6:00 p.m., bringing their signature blend of alternative rock and country to fairgoers. The concert is part of the Chevrolet Music Series, with all shows included in the price of Fair admission.
Best known for their 1997 hit “All for You”, which topped adult alternative charts and helped their album “Somewhere More Familiar” reach platinum status, Sister Hazel has remained a steady presence in the music industry for nearly 30 years. In recent years, the band has successfully transitioned into the country genre, with their album “Lighter in the Dark” peaking at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
Sister Hazel’s four-part EP series “Elements” also garnered significant recognition. In 2018, “Water” reached No. 9 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, while “Wind” climbed to the top of iTunes’ country page. The final two installments, “Fire” and “Earth”, each secured spots on Billboard’s charts. The band recently released its 13th studio album, “Sand, Sea, and Crash Debris,” in November 2024.
“Sister Hazel is a fantastic addition to our entertainment lineup,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “Music has an incredible way of taking us back to cherished memories, and we’re excited for fairgoers to experience that with this performance.”
In addition to their music, Sister Hazel is known for its philanthropic efforts. Lead singer Ken Block founded Lyrics For Life, a nonprofit that has raised over $5 million for cancer research and patient care through concerts and auctions featuring musicians and celebrities.
The Great New York State Fair will run from Wednesday, August 20, through Labor Day, Monday, September 1.
