Aspiring entrepreneurs in Wayne County recently had the opportunity to enhance their business skills through a series of SCORE workshops designed to support participants in the upcoming 2025 Adult Pitch Competition. The workshops, held on February 15 and February 22 at the Macedon Public Library, covered key business topics such as financial tracking, marketing strategies, and business planning.
The sessions were part of the KickStart Wayne County initiative, which aims to foster small business development and economic growth in the region. Attendees gained insights into important financial and legal considerations, including the BAIL framework (Banker, Accountant, Insurance, and Legal), which was emphasized as a critical aspect of business planning.
One workshop participant highlighted a major takeaway: “If you’re not following up with your client, someone else will.” The sessions were designed to equip business owners with practical knowledge to refine their strategies and strengthen their pitches ahead of the competition.
For those who were unable to attend, additional resources and support are available through the Wayne Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). More information can be found at www.WEDCNY.com.
The 2025 Adult Pitch Competition encourages local entrepreneurs to present their business ideas for a chance at funding and mentorship opportunities. Organizers are looking forward to receiving applications and continuing to support small businesses in Wayne County.
