A Rochester man was arrested by Ontario County deputies on Thursday night in connection with an alleged unemployment fraud case dating back to 2021.
Edwin Flores Jr., 51, was taken into custody along Interstate 490 in Victor on an active arrest warrant issued by Hopewell Town Court. He is charged with offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, a felony.
Authorities say the charge stems from an investigation into unemployment fraud involving the Ontario County Social Services Department. Details regarding the scope of the alleged fraud or the amount involved were not immediately available.
Flores was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment.
