Monroe County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Rochester man in connection with multiple false fire alarm activations in the town of Henrietta.
According to authorities, deputies and first responders were dispatched to three false fire alarms at local businesses on the following dates:
February 14, 2025 – Walmart, 1200 Marketplace Dr.
February 17, 2025 – Walmart, 1200 Marketplace Dr.
February 18, 2025 – Marketplace Mall, 1 Miracle Mile Dr.
Investigators identified Mark Salatino, 48, of Rochester, as a suspect in the February 14 and February 18 incidents. He was also linked to a reported burglary and criminal mischief case that occurred on February 17 at Space Shop Self Storage, located at 1575 Marketplace Dr.
On February 19, a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy spotted Salatino near Marketplace Mall and Best Buy. After initially resisting, he was taken into custody with the assistance of two additional deputies.
Salatino has been charged with:
Falsely Reporting a Fire in a Public Building (Class D Felony)
Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree (Class D Felony)
Burglary in the Third Degree (Class D Felony)
Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor)
Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
Following his arraignment in Henrietta Town Court, Salatino was remanded to the Monroe County Jail without bail. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
