A Rochester man was arrested in Ontario County early Monday morning following an investigation into a traffic stop incident earlier this month, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies took Jarod A. Thompson, 35, of Rochester into custody around 12:10 a.m. on January 29 on Buffalo Street in Canandaigua. He is facing charges of unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree.
Authorities said the arrest stems from an incident on January 18 in the Town of Phelps, where Thompson allegedly failed to comply with deputies conducting a traffic stop and drove in a reckless manner.
In addition to the initial charges, Thompson is also accused of aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, reckless driving, having an inadequate exhaust system, and failure to comply with law enforcement.
Following his arrest, Thompson was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he was processed and later released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Phelps Town Court at a later date to address the charges.
