A Rochester man was arrested early Sunday morning after a single-vehicle crash in the Town of Williamson, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the incident occurred around 2:24 a.m. on Ridge Road, where a vehicle traveling eastbound struck a parked car. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
The driver, identified as Richard Freitas, 56, was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Authorities allege that Freitas was operating the vehicle while intoxicated and declined to submit to a chemical test.
Freitas was charged with driving while intoxicated and issued several traffic citations. He was later taken to the Wayne County Jail to await arraignment through the Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) court system.
He is expected to appear in Williamson Town Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
