The Red Creek Central School District has appointed Deputy Christina Denniston as its new school resource officer (SRO), following the promotion of her predecessor, Tom Munzert, to sergeant in the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office road patrol division.
Deputy Denniston brings with her six years of experience with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, including the past four years serving as an SRO for the Sodus and Williamson Central School Districts. In her new role, she will focus on fostering a safe learning environment while serving as a liaison between students, staff, and law enforcement.
When reflecting on her role, Denniston emphasized the importance of student connections. “Building relationships with the kids, for sure,” she said, highlighting what she enjoys most about being an SRO.
Deputy Denniston’s transition comes as part of the district’s ongoing efforts to maintain strong security measures while promoting positive relationships within the school community.
