Palmyra Man Arrested After Police Pursuit in Wayne County
Authorities allege that the man failed to comply with a deputy’s attempt to pull him over for a stop sign violation, leading to a pursuit.
A local man was taken into custody following a police pursuit that spanned the towns of Palmyra and Macedon, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Colby C. Sears, of Quaker Road, Palmyra, on multiple charges, including unlawfully fleeing a police officer in the third degree, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, reckless driving, and various traffic violations. Authorities allege that Sears failed to comply with a deputy’s attempt to pull him over for a stop sign violation, leading to a pursuit.
According to the sheriff’s office, Sears attempted to evade deputies by driving through several farm fields before managing to escape at the time of the incident. He was later identified as the driver and subsequently apprehended.
Following his arrest, Sears was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing. He was later released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Palmyra and Macedon Town Courts at a later date to respond to the charges.
