The Palmyra Fire Department participated in Career Day at Palmyra-Macedon High School on March 13, providing students with insight into careers in fire service.
A crew from the department took time off from their regular work schedules to attend the event, engaging with students and answering questions about the responsibilities of firefighters and emergency responders.
The department emphasized the variety of job opportunities within fire service and encouraged those interested in community service to consider joining.
For those looking to learn more, the department is hosting a pancake breakfast this Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon at the firehouse. Additionally, those interested in volunteering or pursuing a fire service career can visit the station on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. or Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon.
For more information, community members are encouraged to contact the fire department or speak with a fire chief.
