Pal-Mac High School Students Explore Business Education at Golisano Institute
A group of students from Palmyra-Macedon (Pal-Mac) High School had the opportunity to explore the world of business education during a recent visit to the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship.
The visit, which took place last Friday, offered students an inside look at the institute's curriculum, technological resources, and opportunities available to aspiring business professionals.
The day began with a Master Class on the economy, led by Dr. Nathan Harris, Faculty and Special Assistant to the Chief Academic Officer. The session focused on current economic trends and their influence on business decision-making, providing students with insights into real-world applications of economic principles.
Following the Master Class, students attended a live demonstration on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in business. Graham Anthony, Assistant Vice President for Education Technologies and Innovation, led the session, showcasing AI tools commonly used in various industries. The demonstration highlighted how businesses leverage AI to enhance strategic decisions and operational efficiency.
Students also toured the Golisano Institute campus, learning about academic programs, admissions processes, and financial aid options during an information session. The institute's credits are transferable toward associate degrees at several Rochester-area colleges and Syracuse University, offering flexibility for future academic pursuits.
The visit concluded with lunch and a stop at the student-run store, where Golisano students manage and sell products they have developed, providing a practical example of entrepreneurship in action.
Pal-Mac teacher Joe Hill, who accompanied the students, described the trip as an "engaging and insightful experience," noting its value in supporting career exploration initiatives and extracurricular learning opportunities for students.
