Ovid Woman Arrested After Allegedly Pushing and Choking Female
Authorities allege that the woman was involved in a dispute during which she pushed a female victim into a chair, causing it to break. She is also accused of placing the victim in a chokehold.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a local woman in connection with an alleged altercation earlier this month.
According to Sheriff Tim Thompson, deputies took Amanda L. Moshier, 36, of Ovid, into custody on February 26, 2025, at approximately 10:22 p.m. She faces charges of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and fourth-degree criminal mischief, which involves intentionally damaging another person’s property.
The arrest follows an investigation into an incident that reportedly occurred on February 8, 2025. Authorities allege that Moshier was involved in a dispute during which she pushed a female victim into a chair, causing it to break. She is also accused of placing the victim in a chokehold, allegedly restricting the individual’s breathing.
Following her arrest, Moshier was processed on the charges and taken to the Seneca County Jail, where she was held pending arraignment in Centralized Arraignment Part Court on the night of February 26.
