A 20-year-old Bronx man was taken into custody early Monday morning by Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies on an outstanding bench warrant.
Authorities identified the individual as Abou Sangare, who was arrested at approximately 1:56 a.m. near Interstate Exit 31 in Utica. The warrant, issued by the Ontario County Court, included charges of third-degree grand larceny and bail jumping.
According to law enforcement, Sangare was involved in an earlier incident with the New York State Police in Poughkeepsie before his arrest. Following his apprehension, he was transferred to the custody of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he awaits arraignment.
Officials have not released further details about the circumstances leading to the initial charges or the incident in Poughkeepsie.
