NYSDOCCS Buses Vandalized and Torched in Cayuga County; State Police Launch Investigation
The buses were parked in a storage lot along State Route 370 in the town of Victory, Cayuga County. State Police have not yet identified any suspects and are asking for public assistance.
State Police are investigating an incident of vandalism involving two buses used for transporting incarcerated individuals under the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS). The buses, owned by a company contracted by DOCCS, were parked in a storage lot along State Route 370 in the town of Victory, Cayuga County.
According to authorities, one of the buses sustained significant fire damage in its rear section. A second bus was defaced with graffiti, displaying the message “Can you hear us now” spray-painted on one side.
State Police have not yet identified any suspects and are asking for public assistance in their investigation. Anyone with information regarding the case is encouraged to contact NYS Police Troop E at 585-398-4100.
