The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Newark man after a traffic stop in the Town of Lyons.
Stephen Walker, 36, was stopped by deputies during a routine patrol. Following the stop, it was determined that Walker was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. According to authorities, Walker’s blood alcohol content was recorded at 0.17%, more than double the legal limit of 0.08%.
Walker now faces multiple charges, including speeding, failure to update his driver’s license with the Department of Motor Vehicles, and operating a vehicle without a proper registration sticker. He was also charged with driving while intoxicated.
The suspect was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
