A Newark man was arrested early Tuesday morning after his vehicle reportedly left the roadway in the Town of Arcadia, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call regarding a vehicle that had gone off the road and found 20-year-old Conner W. Collins of Bryant Avenue, Newark, at the scene. Authorities allege that Collins had been operating his vehicle while intoxicated when he missed a turn and became stuck after attempting to turn around.
Following an investigation, deputies determined Collins was driving under the influence. A chemical test later confirmed his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was .20%, more than twice the legal limit of .08%. Collins was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where he was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC of .18% or greater, and moving from a lane unsafely.
He was processed and released with appearance tickets for Arcadia Town Court, where he is scheduled to appear on March 26 at 3:00 p.m. to respond to the charges.
