The New York State Police will conduct a test of the AMBER Alert system on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The test aims to ensure the system is fully operational and capable of effectively notifying the public in the event of a child abduction.
The test alert will be sent to mobile phones through the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system in AMBER Alert Region 2, as well as to television and radio stations via the Emergency Alert System (EAS). Region 2 encompasses all or parts of Allegany, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, and Wyoming counties.
State Police are asking anyone who receives the test alert on their phone to click on the provided link to the official AMBER Alert website. Public participation will help authorities confirm that the system is functioning correctly.
