A Mentz woman was arrested Saturday night after Cayuga County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of erratic driving in the Town of Throop.
According to Sheriff Brian Schenck, deputies were dispatched to the area of State Street Road near Robinson Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. on February 15 following reports of a vehicle being operated unsafely. Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway. The driver, later identified as 26-year-old Monica N. Lucio, was found inside.
Following an investigation, Lucio was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Cayuga County Public Safety Building, where authorities say she provided a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol concentration of 0.19%, more than twice the legal limit.
As a result, Lucio was charged with driving while intoxicated along with additional vehicle and traffic violations. She was issued traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Throop Town Court on February 25 at 6 p.m.
