Massachusetts Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Traveling to New York for Child Exploitation
A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges related to child exploitation and unlawful travel, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York.
Frank Twing Sr., 33, of West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, was sentenced on Tuesday. Following his prison term, he will serve 25 years of supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender. He must also forfeit property used in the offenses and pay special assessments.
Prosecutors say Twing admitted to engaging in a relationship with a 15-year-old and producing explicit material involving the minor. He also acknowledged traveling from Massachusetts to New York with the intent to engage in illegal conduct involving a child around 12 years old.
The case was investigated by the FBI’s Albany Division Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, along with the New York State Police, Massachusetts State Police, and the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael D. Gadarian and Benjamin A. Gillis as part of Project Safe Childhood, a federal initiative aimed at combating child exploitation and abuse.
