Macedon Man Arrested for DWI Following Quaker Road Crash
A Town of Macedon man was arrested following a motor vehicle accident on Quaker Road, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
A Town of Macedon man was arrested following a motor vehicle accident on Quaker Road, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities responded to the scene of the crash, where they determined that the driver of the at-fault vehicle was Chad R. Wellott, 52, of Macedon. Wellott had been traveling westbound on Quaker Road when he failed to maintain his lane, crossed the center line, and rolled his vehicle into a yard.
During the investigation, deputies observed signs indicating that Wellott may have been intoxicated. He was injured in the crash and subsequently submitted to a blood test, which showed a blood alcohol content of .097%, exceeding the legal limit.
As a result, Wellott was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, aggravated unlicensed operation in the 2nd degree, moving from a lane unsafely, and operating a vehicle without a valid license.
He was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, issued Uniform Traffic Tickets, and released. Wellott is scheduled to appear in Macedon Town Court at a later date for arraignment.
