A Lyons man has been arrested following an investigation into multiple reports of public lewdness and forcible touching at Wayne Behavioral Health in February.
According to the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Lyons, David A. Snyder, 24, of Lyons, was identified as the suspect in three separate incidents that allegedly took place on February 10 and 11, 2025, at the facility on Nye Road.
Police say that on February 10, a victim reported being inappropriately touched while waiting in the facility’s vestibule. The suspect also allegedly attempted to force the victim’s hand toward his pelvic area. In a separate incident, a victim under the age of 17 reported witnessing a lewd act performed by an unknown male in the main entrance lobby. On February 11, another victim reported that an unknown male forced them to perform oral sex.
Following an investigation, Snyder was taken into custody on March 5, 2025, and charged with endangering the welfare of a child (misdemeanor), forcible touching (misdemeanor), public lewdness – two counts (misdemeanors), and second-degree harassment (violation).
Snyder was processed at SP Lyons and transported to the Wayne County Jail where he remains in custody. Authorities have not disclosed any additional information about the victims or whether further charges may be filed. The investigation is ongoing.
