Members of local law enforcement will take part in a fundraising event to benefit Special Olympics New York on Thursday, April 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Applebee’s, located at 221 Grant Avenue in Auburn.
Officers from the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, Auburn Police Department, Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, and Auburn Correctional Facility will assist in raising funds as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run initiative, which supports Special Olympics athletes across the state.
The event is part of a broader effort at Applebee’s locations across Upstate New York, where officers will engage with the community to raise awareness and encourage donations for the Special Olympics program.
For those unable to attend, donations can be made online via Venmo or credit card by scanning a QR code provided on promotional materials.
